This place is so cool! You walk in unexpectedly to the basement, which is a cozy Italian spot. Feels very family owned and I love that. Our server was great with explaining the specials to the T. She was very attentive as well. I got the ravioli (homemade) it was amazing, it did taste home made and fresh. Nothing better then home made ricotta too! man o man!! My husband had the chicken parm and said it was the perfect amount of past/sauce and chicken! The fresh bread and dip they bring out it a flavor ive never had and absolutely loved!! I will defiantly be back to eat here and hopefully be able to enjoy the wine selection next time!! Thank you!!

I have to commend Mazzola's. A legit restaurant serving up Italian food done perfectly is a breath of fresh air in amongst tourist trap ski-towns. We came fresh off the slopes, exhausted, and with an appetite to match. Everything we ordered was amazing. Brace yourself for the following pig out list: The Appetizer Bread was unreal. It comes with a white bean dip that I think this Italian restaurant is afraid to call Hummus, but is incredible either way. The Calamari, which is so often a rubbery mess at other places, was excellent here. The Mozerella Cheese Sticks were delicious: fried, cheesy, and tastily seasoned. My friend said his Spaghetti Bolognese with a meatball was the best meatball he's ever had. I went with the Shrimp Penne Vodka, and it might have been the best vodka sauce I've ever had. Beware though, they keep those tails on the shrimp. Overall, a wonderful meal where everything ordered was delicious. If I'm ever back in Steamboat, this will be my first stop.

Class Capri - outstanding linguini with clams, lots of garlic tossed in a sauce with a perfectly balanced hint of lemon. Eggplant Milanese - also outstanding, had over pasta, fresh and light tomato sauce. Desert is also not to be missed, the best Italian I have had in a long time, like since being there.

We went here on our mini moon and still talk about it almost a year later. The meatball sub was incredible. I'm not sure how they make the sauce, but it's magic. We also had the spaghetti and meatballs and they were perfect. The atmosphere is homey, and it's so relaxed. We felt well taken care of in the off season, and cannot wait to be back.

The food is incredible and service is great as well. Fondue appetizer, lobster tortellini and Alfredo are all awesome.

Well, if you can't prepare a to go order than just say so. I ordered the Cioppino and the Ricotta gnocchi to go, as well as a Caesar salad and 2 orders of Tiramisu. When I get home there is no bread or cheese to go with my (very saucy) dishes. Two stars dropped right there. Then comes the flavor. The Cioppino was absolutely flavorless and the shrimp under cooked. The gnocchi was very tasty but the sauce so thin that it felt like I was having soup. The croutons in my salad were stale and I hadn't even added the dressing yet! The tiramisu was very bad, so so bad I couldn't take another bite. Whipped cream from a can? Unacceptable. Shame on this restaurant for settling for hungry tourists. For the length of time they've been in business they should be excellent. Instead, Olive Garden is 10 times better, provides better to go service, and even gets closer to traditional Italian flavors than this place. Last but not least, overpriced for what I got.

This was a nice find. Friendly service and good food. The atmosphere was very comfortable for a family. The chicken parmesan was good and the pasta with it had a great consistency. Our favorite part of the night was, honestly, the bread served with some kind of olive oil and hummus.

Excellent Italian! The bison lasagna was amazing! Ask for Travis as your server. He was fantastic, funny and the best service! From a group of Boulder fans.

Bumped review up one star for the amazing and fresh focaccia bread. Otherwise, pretty disappointing. While I liked the basement den atmosphere, my husband did not and found it congested. My pasta was clearly off a store shelf, as were the canned artichokes in it. Husband said his mac and cheese had a powdered, from-the-box taste (I did find it without flavor), his steak was forgettable, and his vegetable was a single, gigantic broccoli stem. After eating at Rex's and hearing that "Rex" owns five restaurants in Steamboat, we avoided another Rex establishment, but then kicked ourselves for not checking to see if Mazzola's was Rex-owned. It is.

We went to Mazzola's after a long day of hiking in Steamboat. I read the good reviews and decided that this was the place to go! No wait early on a Saturday evening. It's underground so it's a little dark but not too much so - it created a nice ambiance in the restaurant. The wait staff was GREAT. They were super friendly and attentive - it just happened that many of them were from the same town that I grew up in so a few different servers stopped by to say hello - it was fun! The food was great. We shared a tomato bisque soup and a margherita pizza - both were phenomenal. The portions were generous and just very tasty. I'd recommend Mazzola's to anyone and I'd like to go back next time I'm visiting Steamboat.

Kevin was a great bartender and server! I had the butternut squash and would recommend it again and again.

Where do I start? The white bean dip and the bread they start you with is enough for your whole dinner! Our waitress was very attentive and helpful with menu questions. I got the Fried Chicken Ravioli special which was amazing. The portions are perfect, and there is definitely enough to take home for another meal. The only complaint I have is their house wine menu is slim, but the wine I did get was good. I would recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a good Italian dinner in Steamboat.

This place is in the basement of the Bristol Hotel. The atmosphere is very casual, family, friendly. It seems noisy, but we had no trouble talking and hearing each other throughout the meal. We started with the garlic shrimp appetizer. The shrimp comes in this wonderful broth and is served with their cheese bread. We finished the broth by dipping the bread. I had the lamb risotto. The lamb was very tender and flavorful and the rice was perfect. My husband had the spaghetti bolognese and a huge meatball. He loved it. My sister got the spaghetti verdure, which was also very good. We shared a cabernet from Napa at a very reasonable price. The prices are very reasonable. We spent $105 for an appetizer, three entrees, one beer and a bottle of wine. I highly recommend!

From start to finish it was so good all first were good cheese sticks, garlic shrimp & the cheese bread. Dinner plates were just as good calzone,Kalamata pasta was on an old menu I saw but not on the menu when we got there but they will make it if asked!! The chicken Parmesan the pesto chicken and the pizza so so good the price was even better the service was great. I have not a bad thing to say. And plenty of left overs

I read the reviews while looking for a place for dinner after the Chatfield Raptors won the Mountain Magic baseball tourney and this place looked promising. The boy got a small pepperoni pizza and said it was amazing. The misses and I got the fonduta appetizer and wow! My lobster scampi was impressive and she had good things to say about her bolognese. The service was awesome. In fact the waiter went out of his way to say that usually they only see the people that lose come through and it was nice to have one of the winners come in. He gave the boy a high five and congratulated him. Great place and very family friendly and the food is good too!

Great place for a family dinner where no one cares if you are loud. Croutons on the salad are the best I've had. Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. Pizza was good I'd definitely order it again. Pasta s are excellent & hand made.

We go to Steamboat every other year and go out a lot. We tried Mazzola's last night for our first time and we're very impressed. The atmosphere is relaxing and intimate and the staff is super friendly. We ordered the Gnocchi and it was to die for. We also ordered a meat lovers penne dish that was one of the best pasta dishes I have had. I encourage anyone in the Steamboat area to try this place out.

Came bc of Yelp and happy to say it was as good as the reviews! The Lamb Bolognese was phenomenal. The Chicken Parm, equally so! If you're in Steamboat for dinner, you have got to try Mazzola's!

Thanks Yelp for the idea to stray from Mambo's and try something different! We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here last night! We called ahead and got our name on the list and were seated within a few minutes. Before that the lovely bartender called across the room to be sure we didn't need a drink while waiting. Our server was friendly and attentive. I had the gnocchi and it was just the right portion and tasted amazing. My husband had the lamb risotto and the lamb was amazingly tender. As usual, my son had lasagna and loved theirs. My daughter devoured the meatball atop her spaghetti. Highly recommend this yummy and friendly spot.

Great atmosphere, great service and great food. Ate here on a recent trip to Steamboat. Honestly, it wasn't even on my list of restaurants to try but my friend who has a place here insisted on it. So glad we did! Going back to Steamboat in August and will definitely eat here again.

I ate here with a group of four on a Saturday night. We figured there would be a wait so we opted to receive a text message alert when our table was ready. We were told 45 minutes. Great we thought- we wandered down the street for a cocktail. After 30 minutes we got the text that the table was ready. We slammed our drinks and headed back. We get there and proceed to stand around for an additional half hour; hungry and annoyed. When we finally sat down, our wine order took over ten minutes to arrive. Two waitstaff recommended the lamb bolognese which one in our group got, but it was probably one of the more underwhelming Bolognese's that I've seen. Overall, the service was so so and never made up for the hassle of getting a table. I don't think I'll go back even though I personally loved my lamb risotto.

Mazzola's is an Italian restaurant located in the basement of the Hotel Bristol. Mazzola's showed me that there is much more to their name than just corn oil and margarine. Everyone going there gets there house bread, and hummus with fluorescent green sauce. I was concerned that my wife and daughter would not like hummus, as they have never tried it before. But, they like it, even with the mysterious fluorescent green sauce. We ordered the fried calamari, and a "huge" cioppino. The fried calamari came out first. It was the daughter's first time eating calamari. She loved it. She dislikes Italian food, and doesn't eat when we eat Italian. So, we don't go to Italian restaurants too much. Our server was really good. He kept on telling us the status of our food. He kept on telling us that it was almost done. Until, one of the servers there didn't know the difference between their mussels appetizer and our cioppino with linguine, and treated their table to a nice bowl of cioppino. When our waiter realized what happened, it was too late. He apologized and told us that he would give us something, like a dessert for our inconvenience. He ended up not giving us dessert. The chef cooked another cioppino for us, and also cooked us a bowl of mussels. The funny thing is that if he never told us that another server had grabbed our cioppino, we would have never knew that there was a problem. We were enjoying ourselves too much too know that they had a slight problem. The mussels that we were given as a gift because of the waitress messing up, was prepared well. It was the first time for the daughter to eat mussels. She liked it. If mussels didn't give me gout, it would've been a fight between the daughter and I. The cioppino was good as well. It had shrimp, scallops, and squid. No crab like the cioppino at Scoma's in San Francisco. It was very flavorful. The linguine that came with the cioppino filled us up. It was a great experience at Mazzola's. Food was good. Service was good. I definitely would go back if I visited Steamboat once again.

Their pizza is outstanding, the crust is puffy and crispy with some sourdough bite. I'm sitting in Low Country and it's taking forever and I want to walk down to Mazzola's and eat. Also, the sausage is fennel-tasty with some spice. Good service. For an app, the cheesy bread is tasty with mozz and fresh parsley but be careful, it's as much food as a medium pizza. Easy to over-order here. The complimentary focaccia with white bean dip is a welcome sight after a long day on the mountain. Go there!

If you are in Steamboat Springs, you absolutely have to try Mazzola's! My boyfriend and I stumbled upon it unexpectedly and it turns out this is now my new favorite Italian restaurant! The setting is unexpectedly different as you walk down into the basement's cozy, dimly lit atmosphere, almost as if you are walking into a classic Italian spot in New York city. Ok, now to the best part, as if all that isn't amazing enough already! The food here is beyond amazing! The cheese fonduta, oh my gosh, the cheese fonduta! If you come here and don't try anything else, try the cheese fonduta! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Perfectly cheesy, gooey, just the right amount of spice and served up with bread that is fluffy on the inside with just the right amount of butter and crunch on the outside. We also tried the fried zucchini, which was also amazing! My boyfriend had the bison lasagna and it was to die for! I couldn't stop eating it! Possibly the best lasagna I've ever eaten! I had the shrimp with vodka sauce which was also amazing (although mine was chicken) because they were so nice and accommodating to substitute the chicken. Needless to say, our server couldn't keep the food coming fast enough! To top off this great, delectable eating experience, our server Travis was awesome! So nice and personable, prompt, friendly, and took the time to get to know us a little bit! We will definitely be back! And dessert, tiramisu heaven to go! Let me just leave you with this. This place is so good, I would drive 3 hours from Denver just to eat the fonduta appetizer!

Let me start off by saying the food was amazing. We had the pizza, caesar salad, and gnocchi finished with fresh tiramisu. All of the food was delicious. What prevented this restaurant from a 5 star review was the wait time. We were told 35 minutes which ended up over an hour. After a long day on the mountain it was difficult to wait so long to eat. I can not blame the wait staff because there were several parties who were just hanging out and they have limited seating. I would recommend going early around 6 PM or making reservations to ensure you get a table at a decent hour. Otherwise you'll be stuck waiting like us. It was well worth it once seated and food was rolling out. Enjoyed their bread and homemade dipping oil.

We were here over president weekend and didn't have a reservation, we put our name down and it was about an hour of wait, so we went window shopping in the meanwhile. The host texted us as promised and we got a table in the main dining area. The place was packed with family with kids. Our waiter was really helpful explaining the daily specials, but the kids were so loud we could hardly hear each other without shouting. The food was great, greasy as expected, my surf and turf came with one large shrimp although the menu called it a prawn. Overall it is a authentic Italian restaurant worth visiting, but if you want to have a quiet dinner this may not be the place.

Absolutely incredible Italian food! And what was just about is insanely good as the food was the customer service. We experienced a reasonable issue and the level of customer service we experienced was beyond surprising from a positive perspective!

First off, I'm gluten free. I chose this restaurant because it specifically advertised having gluten free options. I went with my family, which consists of four of us. For an appetizer, we had garlic shrimp, which came with bread (not gluten free). The dish was excellent, wish I had some bread to mop up the sauce. My daughter had cheesy garlic bread, which she declared very good. Entrees, I had the lamb Bolognese, which was really good. My son had the special, shrimp pasta fra Diabolo, which he said was excellent, my daughter's fettuccine Alfredo was great. My husband tried the pizza, which was the only disappointing part. It was overcooked and therefore a little dry. The atmosphere is fun, but loud. Go for a fun night with friends or family, not an intimate dinner for two. Also, the track lighting is a little warm and can kind of put people in the spotlight. All in all a great little place!

Stayed in town for a few days with my daughter, came here on a tip from my high school buddy that lives here and said it was worth a go. First off, the food is amazing! Our server, Alycia, was phenomenal! Prices were just right and we will definitely be back. Don't miss this Steamboat gem!!

Wow! Excellent experience and food all the way around! The best service and staff- our waitress was Callie and she made awesome recommendations for food and wine. The best meal and dining experience of our trip to Steamboat. The house salad is great, I had the marinara and meatball - hubby had chicken Parmesan. Big portions good pricing - will definitely make sure to come back next time we are in town. Again, cannot say enough great things about Callie- great personality & Excellent service!

Very good! Had the calamari and calzone, both were fantastic. 5-6 is half price pizza and calzones, can't beat that. Bill came up to about $30 for a family of five, felt like I was stealing.

  • Brandon F.

Good, but not epic by any means. Don't bother ordering the broccoli appetizer, it's pretty boring. The lamb risotto was solid without much of a wow factor for me. I kind of feel like this place is only really successful due to consistent tourist business. It wouldn't thrive in an area with established top rated Italian nearby.

Came for dinner with two teenagers. There were lots of other kids eating here too which made it rather loud at times. The food was good but I thought the portions were a bit small (or should have included a salad). I had the halibut special which was served over mashed cauliflower instead of pasta. My glass of wine was served in a tall rocks glass instead of a wine glass. We would return as they did a good job for a ski town restaurant.

We visited tonight for the first time. The restaurant was located on the main drag, but downstairs. We sat at the bar for Happy Hour which was from 5-6pm for 1/2 off appetizers, pizza, and calzones. The bartender was friendly. We were brought a plate of complimentary hummus with infused olive oil, olives, and garlic with a few slices of garlic flatbread. It was a nice surprise and yummy. We ordered the Fried Calamari, Baked Shrooms, and a large 16" Venetian Pizza. The food came out fairly fast. The Fried Calamari was light and crisp and came with a spicy tomato remoulade. It was a very large portion, enough for 3-4 people as an appetizer. It was just calamari rings and tentacles, no vegetables added. The Baked Shrooms were stuffed with casino stuffing, happy crumbs with a tomato cream sauce. There were 5 generously stuffed mushrooms. The Venetian Pizza had garlic oil, spinach, mushrooms, onion, goat cheese and parmesan. The crust was crispy and was brushed with roasted garlic-infused olive oil. The toppings were plentiful and evenly distributed. Everything was really good and we would highly recommend going there.

We are new to Steamboat and tried Mazzola's for the first time last night. Amazing!!! Went on a Saturday night with no reservation assuming we would wait for a table but luckily one of the bar high tops were available with full dinner service and we were seated immediately! (Otherwise we were told 30mins, very reasonable for a Saturday night). Service was prompt and friendly. Complimentary bread and hummus was great while we waited and they even brought us more bread. Our meals did seem to take awhile but with a full restaurant and watching all the delivery and to-go orders leave the kitchen we understood why. Plus the wait was WELL worth it. I had the fettuccine Alfredo, so good with lots of creamy sauce and he had the lasagna, huge portion! Also the table side salad was well worth the $5. We will definitely be back... Maybe take-out tonight?!

We tried out this place on our 4th of July trip and were very pleased. Excellent service and very kid friendly. Our waiter offered to put the kids meals in first and then brought some dough balls to play with and throw in the pizza oven. Prices aren't cheap but not too bad for a mountain town. Will definitely stop in the next time we are in town.

Fabulous, delicious food and great atmosphere. We decided to sit at the bar to eat dinner since there was a 45 minute wait for a table and we were extremely hungry. The bartender was excellent. My niece who has lived in Italy said their gnocchi was the best she's had since living there. I had their pesto chicken, which was superb. All made from scratch pasta and entrées. Highly recommended!!

This place had incredible service and pretty tasty food. We went here with a group of 10 people for my grandmothers 80th birthday celebration. Our waiter was able to take care of all of us in a very timely manner while having a positive attitude and even throwing a few jokes our way. Only complaint: The dish I had (I don't remember the exact name) was a pasta dish in a vodka sauce with pancetta in it. The pancetta I had was very thick and a little chewy-- not as tasty as pancetta I have had at other places. Even with this slight drawback, my dish was still delicious, and I even ate the left overs for lunch the next day. Definitely a great place to go!

This review is really two reviews, one for the restaurant and the main meal, and one for the dessert. The Main meal and the restaurant deserve 4.5 -5 stars, and the dessert was a 3 at best. Restaurant and Main meal: We called and made reservations and was given the expectation if being a 45 minute wait or so (from the time we called). When we arrived the hostess was very friendly and arranged for us to get drinks as we waited and when the party in front of us was not on time, the allowed us to jump the spot and be seated early. THANK YOU!!! Many places would not do this and while I understand the reasoning, if you reservation is at 5:00 PM and you are not there at 5:10.. well that's on you, not the restaurant. The waiter was friendly, but a little slow in providing service. It was not over the top, but several times we were like "where is the waiter with the water" (or whatever) right as he turned the corner with the water (or whatever) So it was not so much that he was super slow, just he constantly pushed the envelope of us noticing what we were waiting for had not arrived yet. The food was terrific, all the way around. We had a pretty large table and everyone was impressed by the serving size and taste. We ordered cheese bread and Calamari as appetizers and they were tasty as well. I ordered the Surf and Turf Special and was rewarded with a terrific steak and lobster that was delicious. The dessert was another story. The ice cream was awesome, but we ordered a couple of the dessert calzones, a chocolate and an apple pie calazone. The chocolate was really just chocolate syrup inside the bread, and the Apple was good, except for the bread they used to build the Dessert calzones. While large, the bread was the normal calzone / pizza bread, not a sweat bread. They did try to top these desserts with sweeteners, but he apple pie calzone had a garlic taste and there was not enough sweetener on the chocolate calzone to cover the pizza dough taste. So 3 stars (at most ) for the desserts.

I really wanted to like Mazzola's but left having zero desire to return on our next trip to Stramboat. The reviews on Yelp are pretty great--especially with regard to the service, which might have something to do with why I was so disappointed. I'm stuck between 2 and 3 stars. My husband would give Mazzola's 3 stars but I have to stick with 2, just because I wouldn't want to dine here again, and to me, 3 says "good enough, I'd come back with lower expectations." Pros: intimate setting, varied menu, quick seating (with reservation on Valentine's Day) Cons: service, odd experiences with food and wine The pros pretty much speak for themselves; the ambiance is great and I think even the fussiest of eaters could find something on the menu and be happy with it. Now the cons. I appreciated our waiter, especially at the beginning when he was funny and introduced himself and told us were stuck with him...but then I realized he said the same exact thing to every other table he had and it just seemed ungenuine. A little off-putting but not a big deal. I used to waitress and get it--sometimes it's hard to put on your game face and fully engage with your customers. I had a glass of Pinot Grigio that tasted nothing like any Pinot Grigio I've ever had, especially not Cavit, which I ordered and buy regularly for my home; it tasted more like a Riesling. I didn't say anything and just drank it, so I can't complain about that, it was just a bummer. We enjoyed the caprese salad and put our entree orders in. A while later, I asked our server to check and see if I could get the mushroom sauce on the side instead of served with my entree. He returned to tell me the ticket was four out and the chef was cooking it so no, it couldn't. Frustrating but my fault for waiting to ask, so I just went with it. Unfortunately, when I got the dish (Tuscan Steak) 10 minutes later, I saw that the sauce was actually on the bottom of the plate (not on top), and so 1. My steak was soaking in a buttery soup and 2. If it goes on the bottom, why was four tickets out too little time to put it on the side? The steak and accompanying macaroni and cheese (in its own dish, mind you) weren't ready 10 minutes before served. I ate half of the dish and stopped because it was just SO heavy that I thought I'd be sick. The steak had great flavor, I just couldn't enjoy it. Unfortunately, even with putting it on a bread plate and just eating half, I had an upset stomach. My stomach IS sensitive to oil, so perhaps it's just me and most others love the dish as served. I DO want to note that my husband's gnocchi was delicious and very well done. Maybe it's my fault for ordering the dish I did at an Italian restaurant.

I can't speak to the ambiance of Mazzola's since we got pizza and salads to go and my brother-in-law ran in to get it. "Cool place!" he exclaimed when he got back in the car....but he didn't expand. We got two pizzas and two salads. As an east coast pizza snob, I can assure you I didn't expect to be impressed. Colorado pizza is almost always lacking if you ask this Philly/New York gal. But this was good. Like, really, really good!! We were only in Steamboat for a ski weekend but I wish they had a location in Denver. It would definitely be my go-to pizza place. Four stars instead of five only because I don't know what the restaurant itself is like inside and because our salads were shockingly small - great dressing, just not enough lettuce or salad itself.

Ok. I am from out of town, on vacation, trying an unproven Italian place. Hence, my expectations were moderated. We were, for good or bad, in a tourist town the day prior to the forth of July. We called late for a reservation, and had a large group of 13. The hostess was great. She took our phone and said she would call when our table was prepped. She said it would be at least 30 min, and it turned out to be less than 20. First impressions are everything, right? Well. My wife and I sat at the bar and the bar tender came by immediately and asked if she could help. My wife ordered wine and I asked what she liked to make as far as the bar was concerned. She immediately said "bud on tap." everyone laughed at the bar, and I said bring on the beer. A bit later, she came by and asked if I needed a "fufu" drink. I said "heck yea!" She made a margarita that was stunning. I watched her pour what seemed to be a cup of tequilla. And then several ingredients later, a bit of grenadine. It was sublime. We had forged a relationship built solidly on trust and truth. I had a feeling the night was going to be great! Well, I had no idea. First, every entree was incredible. However, if you do go, and I highly suggest you do, ORDER THE LAMB BOLOGNESE! It was delicious! A triumph of Italian cuisine. I had pizza, and other notable dishes were the oysters and red sauce, as well as the angel hair with olive combination. Our server was great, always offering help and leaving extra drinks. Finally, everyone greeted me upon entry and exit! Great fun. So in order of importance, find a great restaurant. Determine who is scheduled and make sure basic communication is available. Finally, don't leave steamboat until, you have tried this!

Loved it in the basement at this place! Pizza was unique, crunch, fluffy crust and nicely blended flavors. The salad had a nice zip in the dressing and Ross's at your table. Other meals we saw arrive at our neighbor's tables looked scrumptious!

After reading all of the reviews my husband and I were pretty excited about this place. We arrived a little after 8:00 pm on a Tuesday, we were greeted promptly and told it would be about a 10 minute wait and to enjoy a drink at the bar. We were fine with that however, we went to the bar and waited, waited and waited. The bar is small but generally unattended. The bartender was serving people but maybe didn't see us? Not sure what happened but we left. It was a strange experience.

really good Italian... stayed at the Bristol Hotel and its right next door... we ordered for pick up... wife went downstairs to get it and came back and said we should've ordered pizza... the meatball sandwich was good as were the salads... tiramisu was so-so...

We dined at Mazzola's based only on the menu on the door and were so pleasantly surprised at how great this restaurant was. Our waiter Travis was fantastic - he gave us great advice on our orders and provided us with an excellent experience. The bread and olive oil that preceded our meal was wonderful. Then two of us had the Tuscan steak for our entree and it was phenomenal. And it came with the most delicious and unique side of mac and cheese I've ever had. Another one of us had the special penne pasta with three meats which was a "man's meal" and the person who ordered this raved about the flavor. A fourth in our party had the butternut ravioli and she also was thrilled. Very rarely do I find a restaurant on vacation where I want to go back the very next day. But we enjoyed it so much, and there are a number of items on the menu that our party wants to try. We will definitely go back there before our trip ends!

while on vacation with family in Steamboat Springs we ran across this gem. Very casual atmosphere. The Italian fare was scrumptious! Just no room for dessert large portions worth every cent. Order Tiramisu to go!

We came to steamboat for some skiing. The locals recommended Mazzola. We came here for dinner. Definitely worth the wait. The wait staff makes you feel so welcomed. The food was really good. My husband had the lamb bolognese and loved it, i had the spaghetti verdue, it also found it to be very good. The portion sizes are very large (even the children portions). Definitely recommend coming here if heading out to steamboat.

Popular place - not a lot of seating. First time we tried to go the wait was too long with our kiddos. Second time we managed immediate seating outside. Food was good. Service was a bit slow because they were short staffed but our waiter was attentive and clearly was trying to do a great job. We'll be back, may try going a bit earlier to avoid the crowd.

LOVED this place! We walked up and down the main street in Steamboat and settled on this place, which was the perfect choice. EXCELLENT food, lots of options, great atmosphere and service. I will absolutely go back next time I'm in the Boat!

On a recommendation from the lady working in the bookstore a few blocks away, we tried this restaurant while passing through town on a road trip from Denver, CO to Oakland, CA. We needed a relaxing break from the driving, and this was perfect. The interior is very cozy, exactly what I was hoping to find. The service was perfect, and the staff is very friendly. The food was the best part - I really enjoyed the Eggplant Milanese. Kid friendly.

I LOVE Mazzola's! I lived in Steamboat for a couple years as a kid way back in the 70s and Mazzola's was our go-to pizza place back then. Ownership has changed since then, but I will always have that emotional connection to the place and the food is delicious. Actually ate there 3 times over the past weekend (yes, I may be addicted). Friday night we split the prosciutto salad, Tuscan steak, and vodka pasta. Each was delicious in its own way and the combination (along with a bottle of Malbec) made for a wonderful dinner. Our server was wonderful, sadly I cannot remember her name. She actually recognized us from the last time we were in (which was months ago) and thought we might be locals. The prosciutto salad may have been the highlight. We rolled the other ingredients in the prosciutto sort of sushi-style. And, we ordered the dressing on the side, which I think is a good idea anywhere to get it just how you want it. Saturday night we went with the Cioppino (and another bottle of wine). It was also quite tasty. The broth was amazing. We actually found ourselves wishing for more pasta to get more broth. We opted instead for the garlic bread appetizer and soaked it in the broth. We had planned on also getting pizza, but the garlic bread filled us up! And, our server, Bob, was very accommodating to all our special requests. Sunday we came back for lunch and had the build-your-own pizza we meant to have Saturday night. A bit pricey, but yummy. The lunch menu (and seating) is quite limited, so I would recommend coming for dinner instead. We didn't make it to dessert and there are still a number of things on the menu I'd like to try. Don't worry Mazzola's, I will be back. I've already planned my next trip to your lovely town. And, I will wear my souvenir Mazzola's t-shirt proudly here in Denver.

Great food, super price, and we walked away with left overs! The only problem is that it is so darn popular. We made the mistake of coming to Mazzola's without a reservation during the busiest week of the year - Christmas break. The good news though is that they will send you a text message when our table is ready, so you are free to wander around town while you wait. When we were seated, the waiter offered us a free appetizer because we waited for an hour - again, not their fault, but it was a very nice gesture and we were thankful for how quickly it came. We started with the Fonduta which is a cheese fondu with sausage, peppers, and bread. Our pizza was not as big as you might expect to see from other places, but by the time we each had 1 piece, we were full. The price tag was less than $50 so we felt this was a great food value, considering we would have paid twice as much to feed a family of 5 at most other restaurants that evening.

Didn't have high expectations for pizza in a ski town but this is really not good pizza. The dough was super thick and heavy. We got margaritas with added toppings later to find out that the Margarita has no sauce and an undetectable amount of cheese. Not worth a pizza night on your vacation. However they were nice enough to deliver a long way for us, which was much appreciated.

After a hard day in the backcountry on a trail marked as moderate but more accurately should be called EPIC DEATH ROUTE, we found this place under our favorite hotel in town (Hotel Bristol) and it was perfect for apres ski! 1. Cheesy bread is "Crack for Appetizer Junkies." Get it. 2. The bar is small but cozy, decent service too. Nice place to wait for a table. Marg is good, also enjoyed the white IPA. Could use a couple more beers on tap, but I think this place is more about the dining experience than the bar. 3. The house was packed but the wait only 20 minutes and well worth it. 4. Once you are swept into the rear, dark chambers it is all about food and service. Really enjoyed the ambience. 5. Prices were fair. Ample servings. We enjoyed the eggplant dish. Caesar salad was good enough, nothing special, but it did the job if you know what I mean. 6. Pizza was interesting. I thought the sauce and toppings were just right, but the crust was sub par flavor-wise. Look, in general, their pizza is a B+, and if you are in the mood for 'za you will like it. That being said, we both expected the crust to really knock us out after having the best cheesy bread of our lives... but it fell short. If this was crust from our local Blackjack's or Dominos of course, it would win hands down. Just sayin'. 7. Again - we were impressed by how much effort a tourist town's servers put into the effort. Enthusiastic, friendly, hard working, seemed to care about our experience. Nicely done.

So this place was recommended by our shuttle jockey and it has a high rating here on Yelp, so we decided to go. We go inside and ask for a table for 5 and they say it'll be 20-25 minutes, I'm not too happy about waiting, I'm hungry now. Patience is not one of my strong suits. Not while hungry, at least. But the silver lining is they can call us when the table is ready and we can meander around the streets until then. It's better than sitting around waiting or being tethered to a flashing drink coaster. This restaurant is very cozy, not quite cramped. The bar area is quaint and the restaurant seems small but once you're at your table, you don't notice it. They call and we head back and the table is ready as advertised. The waiter brings out some pita bread and some special hummus that came with roasted garlic, Kalamata olives and extra virgin olive oil. It was palatable, but if it wasn't free, I wouldn't get it. I decide on the Yampa Valley Lamb - I figured I should try the local cuisine. I was expecting a lamb chop, but I got a dish that resembled Haggis. No, I'm not knocking the dish, it just looked similar. The taste was okay. Not great, not bad. It's kind of a casserole consistency and I probably wouldn't get it again, though, the leftovers I had the next day were actually better than it was in the restaurant. My friends all got different things and they liked them a lot, so I rated higher based on their food choices.

For some reason when I find out that an Italian place is underground there is just something that says this place is going to be good. Food portions are generous (they have regular & family size), in fact me and a friend shared everything.... Started with the bruchetta, it was good, not great but good. The bread that comes with the meal is great with the olive oil/real olive dip. We had the Mazzola's house salad, it was great. Dinner entree was Vodka Shrimp and it was fantastic!

My husband and I visited a friend in Steamboat and this was the first place we went. They had $1 PBR's that night, which was pretty super. I had 2 of those, a slice of pizza with roasted garlic and a Mazzola's salad. It was tasty and affordable, the service was friendly and fast and the place was clean. I'd go back.

We were looking for a place to eat on Thursday night last week in Steamboat (our arriving night) and I decided to look up places on my Android Yelp app in the car. I saw this place and all the rave reviews and so we decided to check it out. Yelp...you have once again save my taste buds! This place is AWESOME. But first...the ambiance. When you walk in you go downstairs into a much smaller and darker than anticipated environment. All wooden tables lined down the left wall, bar to the right, and just a few larger round tables just past the bar. Low ceilings and this is the perfect cozy "underground" vibe. I absolutely loved it. Felt like I had just found a gold mine of a place. There were 5 of us and we split the Calamari and Bruschetta appetizers. The Bruschetta is very different from any other I've ever had! It's the balsamic reduction that takes it over the top...makes it sort of sweet. It was so good I had to fight for the last piece. And won :-). Calamari was declicious also. My friend and I shared Anti-Patza pizza. Roasted vegetables, fresh mozzarella, balsamic reduction (it was just so good in the bruschetta we figured it would be awesome on a pizza too), and basil. It was TO DIE FOR in yumminess. And I'm not a HUGE vegetable eater, especially on my pizzas and I absolutely loved this pizza. Vegetarians all over the world should try this pizza. Delish!! Wine menu is not too shabby either!! We shared a bottle of red wine (I can't remember what it was, unfortunately, but I believe it was a Malbec) and it was very good. Not served in wine glasses, but rather tumbler like glasses which is apparently custom in Italy (in some regions). Our server was very prompt and friendly and we even had someone else (who appeared to be a manager or owner) come by the table and deliver the food and ask if everything was okay. I'll definitely be back next year when we come back for our annual volleyball tournament. GREAT JOB MAZZOLA'S!!!

One of the restaurants in Steamboat owned by Rex's Restaurant Group - and every bit as good as any of them. Very generous portions, outstanding service, and super good food. The basement location seems a bit dingy at first, but put that aside and enjoy. They have regular great specials, a full bar, and attentive staff. On this visit we had the gnocchi special (OMG so GOOD!), the baked Lamb & Penne - again, OMG, and the Lasagna - very good, but paled a bit in comparison to the others. As mentioned in many reviews, get the Mazzola's salad. Definitely a place we will come back to again and again.

Everyone who ate the chicken got food poisoning! Like clockwork, 5-6 hours after dinner, everyone who had chicken was running to the bathroom either throwing up or with diarrhea. M body threw up until it had nothing else to throw up. This happened all throughout the night. My family and I spend our first day of our family vacation laying in bed. I called to complain and all the manager did was offer to pass this along to the owner. Im not really sure what to think of that.

After reading the reviews on Yelp! we decided we'd eat dinner here before heading back to Denver. We arrived right when they opened and decided to eat in the bar area to take advantage of their Happy Hour: $1 off drinks and 1/2 off apps, pizza and calzones from 5pm-6pm. We ordered calamari and a sausage and pepperoni pizza with beer and wine to wash it down. Before our calamari arrived, they brought over their homemade flat bread with homemade hummus surrounded by a tasty infused olive oil-a very nice start. Then came our calamari which was fried perfectly and very tasty. The pizza was also good, although the sauce was a little sweeter than I like. All in all, a perfect Après-ski meal.

We dine at Mazzola's whenever we visit Steamboat (close to annually for the last 12 years). Always a great meal, and able to accommodate our large (8 to 12 person) group after a bit of a wait. Friendly family atmosphere and great food make it worth the wait .... recommend you go, you wont be disappointed.

One of the best dinners we had while in Steamboat! I had the Butternut Ravioli with my daughter and my son had a Calzone. Both were amazing! Also, my kids couldn't get enough of the focaccia bread they give to snack on while you're waiting. Service was friendly and attentive and we will definitely go back when we visit again in the summer.

We came here in a group of 7. Had two pizzas and 2 calzones and beer. It was affordable and the waitress was very friendly. We had beer pitchers and the total was like $15 each. The salad was great. It's hidden pretty well and under the main building.

Went there for dinner. It's a cozy place downstairs, with flair. We ordered at 5:59 but the waitress didn't want to grant us the happy hour savings anymore on the appetizers, which I found a bit lame. Apart from that good service, and the food was really good (had Lamb Bolognese). Free herb-infused olive oil humus with bread, yummy.

Yep - really good as you can tell by the ratings We finally discovered this place a few years ago after being in SB for many years to ski during the winter This is a family owned and operated restaurant and it shows (they have three other restaurants, all of which are worth visiting) Everything we have had has been consistently good, and that includes when we have ordered in The wait can be pretty long at the restaurant, but you can shop the local stores or have a drink at the bar while waiting The atmosphere is low key and family friendly, so definitely nice to visit after a hard day on the slopes Go visit - you will not be disappointed

Couldn't disagree more with the reviews here. Apps were outright bad - antipasti and caprese salad both over drenched in balsamic reduction and poor ingredients. Trout main was bland, spaghetti marinara was Ragu+ at best, and linguine special was the highlight for meal as "fine". Surely there are better options?...

You know it's not going to be a good day when a full-service restaurant can't even make a decent lemonade. It tasted like it was full of dust -- I couldn't drink more than half a glass! The food wasn't much better. I didn't really like the bread with the mysterious green sauce. Then, we ordered a Caesar salad and a pizza. The salad tasted metallic, and the pizza was burnt. I don't understand all the good reviews. The service was fine, but I thought the food was crap!

So this place is small, like a shoebox really. But the squeeze is worth it. Great service and amazing food. We had a party of five and I tried so much food from others. Everything was freshly made and had amazing flavors. We had three kids with us and even their dishes were delish! They also gave them some pizza dough to mold into whatever they wanted and they baked it, pretty cool! My meal was so good I wanted to eat here everynight of our trip. I will be back and I hope this place is there waiting for me!

Great food, cool underground (lower-level) location. We went on a Saturday night in mid April, didn't know the hours, and showed up 20 minutes before they closed (at 10). Despite arriving so close to closing, the waitstaff was super friendly and helpful. Two of us split a King Carne. It was good; nothing too unexpected, but the meats were good and the crust was crispy but not too thin. The complimentary hummus and bread was delicious and a nice touch.

Just visited Steamboat with my two kids and went to Mazzola's for dinner. It was great in a word. The hummus is wonderful. Breads are great. I had chicken piccata which I highly recommend. My daughter & son had the lamb bolognese which was awesome as well. Service was very good, wines and drinks were great. Atmosphere warm & comfortable. You can't go wrong here.

I eat here fairly often, 2-3 times/month & usually on the weekends when the specials are more diverse. Normally I don't write updates to my reviews unless there is new ownership, a drastic menu change, or I enjoy an unexpectedly great meal. Last night I had the aforementioned unexpectedly great meal. It wasn't anything groundbreaking. Just a "happy crumb" crusted rib-eye (no, they didn't offer details as to just what "happy crumbs" are) with a chianti/mushroom gravy and mashed potatoes. Maybe it's b/c the options for steak in Steamboat are so pitiful that I've lowered my standards or maybe it really was that good. Regardless it really hit the spot. I topped the meal off with a portion of their house-made tiramisu, also fantastic. I'm still bummed that I can't find a cannoli in the entire state of Colorado, but I live here for the climate not the food.

The bread with the pesto and hummus was very good, and my vodka penne was also very good. I had to downgrade to 3 stars because the caesar salad was tasteless (though it looked great, and they used high quality romaine, it was a dressing problem), and the pizza, to me, was inedible. It had this odd flavor that I couldn't put a finger on. I think the dough was brushed with rosemary-infused olive oil or something, but somehow it tasted overly sweet. I also ordered it with ricotta cheese as a topping and I could not find the ricotta on it. Part of my disappointment was that my expectations may have been set too high, but I couldn't eat even 1 piece of the pizza, and I'm not really a picky pizza eater. Luckily, my husband liked it enough that he ate all the rest of it, so maybe it is just a personal preference thing.

I just keep coming back to this place. I love the atmosphere--very cozy and intimate. It is the exact place that I would take my friends and family to have a nice dinner and to hang out to catch up. They have great bar specials, but we never eat in the bar since my husband prefers the tables to the high-tops. They revamped the menu this summer and since then have been running a great weekend 3 course menu with wine pairing. I loved the pairing so much that I bought a bottle of the wine to take home. I trust this menu and would order anything off of it, from the margherita pizza to the steak.

I ordered out a bruschetta pizza and caesar salad from Mazzola's for dinner. I though the garlic infused olive oil crust and pizza was delicious! I was quite disappointed in the caesar salad though. The dressing was way to fishy and I like anchovies. All I could think about was bad sushi when I tried to eat it. Other than that I think it is a great place and great for a pizza. Try the specialty pies!

One of my favorite family restaurants in Steamboat. The food is great and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Located below a popular downtown hotel you enter from main street and descend a short flight of stairs into a cozy bar. As you walk past the JJ (the bartender and manager) you will be greeted with wonderful aromas of the delicious pizza or entrée's to come. The menu is friendly and offers an excellent selection of tasty fresh dishes. Don't miss the house salad, tossed at the table with the house dressing. The bar is well stocked and your favorite beer is likely to be found in the ice cold cooler. Give JJ and the crew a Mazzola's a try, you won't be disappointed.

We loved Mazzola's! You go down to the basement in the old Bristol Hotel and you enter a lively, warm, cozy restaurant that makes you feel like you're in an old Italian family restaurant in Chicago or New York. Casual, fun, and the food is amazing for a really reasonable price. In addition to the free hummus (yea, you gotta love that), we had the Fonduta appetizer which was insane: creamy cheesy fondue with sausage and peppers and toasted focaccia bread. Bliss. House salad with lemon garlic dressing was light and simple but delicious. I had an amazing steak with a mushroom sauce and a cheesy pasta side - big portion for a great price and I LOVED it. Others had lamb bolognese, eggplant milanse, and ravioli and all were great. For dessert we split a zabaione - light airy Italian mouse with berries. A perfect meal and restaurant. We went later, around 8:30 on a week night, and had no trouble getting a table. I've never left a yelp review but loved this place so much and the staff was so great I decided to leave one. Go there!

My family walked in looking for dinner. The wait was 45 minutes but we were able to sit at a barside table. Being from Chicago area, I am always suspect of pizza, but I was impressed with their rendition. Thin crust and tasty. We also tried the cheesy bread and their bread. All was good. I would definitely go back.

I usually love Mazzola's. The food is good. The service is good. However, I have called for delivery three times in the past two months and have been met with less than good service. The first time, I was told I would have to wait two hours. The second time, I was told they weren't offering delivery. The third time, I was told they were doing delivery, but they weren't delivering pizzas or calzones. For a restaurant that advertises delivery, they sure aren't doing a good job of it! Maybe stop delivering altogether if you can't seem to pull it together!

I will start off my advising that I am Italian and am extremely fussy when it comes to Italian food. It took a while for someone to acknowledge us at the door which was a bit annoying. Of course we get sat where the kitchen door is too, so it was noisy and high traffic. As far as food: The salads are huge! My husband and I could have split one easily and it would have been nice for waitress to maybe make that recommendation. Maybe? I was a bit disappointed with what I ordered which was the penne ala vodka. I can't recall it saying there was bacon or other pork product in the pasta...so it was kinda disappointed when my pasta had a very strong pancetta/procuitto flavor. So it was not to my taste, but the presentation was nice and my husband really enjoyed it. So between a not prompt acknowledgment, noisy seating, and a dish that was so-so...I give it 3 stars. I would give it another shot and hope that I picked something better next time.

Located in the lower level of the Hotel Bristol right downtown, this restaurant has a super location and great ambiance. The food is fantastic and the service was stellar. The wine selection was a bit weak for "by the glass" choices, but all in all it was good. I noticed they had summer drink specials like white sangria and mojitos for very reasonable prices and they looked quite refreshing! I was offered the complimentary house bread with hummous and olives to start with my wine. The bread was tasty and the olive oil plate with hummous was delish. I chose the Gorgonzola salad which was made with spinach leaves, tomatoes and feta, with a tasty lemon oil balsamic dressing. I then had the eggplant parmesan with spaghetti which was a bit over cooked, but a healthy portion and a light, interesting sauce. Must like tomatoes. I sat at the bar b/c the restaurant is very, very small, and there were 2 groups which basically took up the entire dining room. I can't imagine this place during high season. The service at the bar was exceptional and noted the bartender went out of his way to accomodate everyone who came through the door. A real charming place to enjoy a meal in Steamboat.

It was just O.K. Calamari appetizer was a little greasy and the batter was not cooked to a crispy crunch the way I would like it. Pizza we had was the Mediterranean. The crust was fine but the Kalamati olives ended up making the overall taste too salty. Like I said it was O.K. but I do believe you can do better elsewhere

Excellent service and food! The flat bread with hummus and infused olive oil was the best hummus I have had loved it. The Chicken Marsala was perfect and the ceasar salad dressing had a touch of horseradish that added a pleasant surprise. The side of spaghetti and meat sauce was just the perfect blend of spices. I would drive the three hours from Denver just to eat here.

An early dinner for 4, yields 4 Stars. This is a cozy, easily missed "downstairs" operation, with very good food and delightful service. The cowboy steak, although not well described, was an outstanding, thick, strip steak, pan seared with a light Panko coating. The spaghetti marinara was a favorite - bold and simple. The angel hair and shrimp was also well prepared with a creamy red sauce and feta. Lemon pasta was good but one note, it needed another layer of flavor. Atmosphere was nice, if not a bit loud (although we had quite the animated storyteller at the next table). The staff seemed to really enjoy themselves, professional, thorough and fast. Recommended.

I am in Steamboat for the week for work, and I just discovered this place last night...I had dinner there AGAIN tonight. It is SO good. One of the best Italian restaurants I've ever been too. The humus on parsley olive oil they serve with bread is amazing. Yes, parsley olive oil! The dipping sauce served with the calamari is insane, and the garlic shrimp app is soooooo garlicy good. I had the stuffed mushrooms and the kalamata pasta tonight. The sangria was good and the fizz limone was pretty strong, but then again, there's lemoncello in it. I would drive all the way back from Denver just to eat here. Everyone is really friendly too. Especially Elizabeth, she was my server last night and was so helpful and attentive.

Incredible, friendly service. Food was serviceably good, not exceptional, but the personable service makes me want to come back. My husband and I shared a bottle of very affordable prosecco sitting at one of the streetside tables while our daughter played with pizza dough. Nice, relaxing evening.

This has been a local favorite for years. The decor has just been updated and now the look and feel match the food. SPECTACULAR. Great wine list and JJ the bartender is the only person who can make my wife's favorite cocktail..a French75. Mazolla's is a MUST NOT MISS.

Came to this place on our first night in Steamboat due to the great reviews we found on Yelp. As we walked up to the door, a family coming out the front door said "This place is great! You have to eat here!" Well, we were planning on it but that comment sold us even more! Great atmosphere, waitress was sweet (and she carded me which is fabulous since I'm almost 30!), and the apps and food excellent! I'm originally from New York so it's hard to find great Italian food outside of NYC, but this place compared to back East and surpassed our expectations. My boyfriend and I both got the special Roasted Chicken for an entree which came with butternut squash "mashed potatoes", green beans in a balsamic sauce, and we had the bruschetta app that was unlike anything I've tried before... It had a mixed veggie concoction, yellow raisins, and feta cheese with a balsamic glaze... Sounds strange but delightful! Will definitely be back here again the next time we visit... In fact, we may go again tonight! Enjoy

Conveniently located a block away from the Nordic Hotel. Cozy feeling . Enjoyed the hot bourbon with cloves and cinnamon drink. Waitress was super nice. The Pizza is thin crust and tasty. The medium is 14 inches, enough for 2-3 people. Good vegetarian options. Be careful of the seafood stuffed mushrooms; they secret have bacon in it. Great salads and bread with the white bean hummus. Price is moderate. We ate all we wanted and got out of there with only a $60 tab. We'd go back.

Best overall dining experience during our week at Steamboat...adorable place downstairs- cozy, inviting, warm. Excellent service all around despite being mobbed at the time we arrived. Salads were basic but perfect and super fresh; eggplant was tender and delicious. Made the mistake of ordering fried artichokes (big, greasy portion...not a suitable appetizer before pasta!). Sweet potato ravioli didn't compare to what we get back home, but still were fresh and satisfying with a really good sage-infused sauce. We will certainly return to this place.

Excellent brushetta and Mazzola salad. The Alla Vodka pasta was flavorful but would have been excellent if the pasta was home made as the penne was just ok. The prosciutto salad was quite large and a meal in itself. The side order of spaghetti bolognese was a perfect size for a lighter meal with the Mazzola salad.

Great food, great atmosphere. It is in a space below the Hotel Bristol on Lincoln Avenue between 9th and 10th. It has a full bar, an extensive wine list, and wonderful food. We had their specials last night - a seafood stew, and scallops with fried polenta squares and asparagus. The people we spoke to in the restaurant were regulars, and spoke very highly of the consistency of the food. Next time I am in town, I will be back!

This place is great. I make a point to eat here, whenever I'm in steamboat. Their pizza is awesome. Tasty appetizers and bread will fill you up. The service is friendly and the atmosphere casual and comfortable.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
